The cement works sits in the worked out quarry of the original chalk
pit.
Built over a period of 4 years the main feature of this layout is the
striking chalk cliff. At nearly 8x4 this layout was quite a step up from
'Adit 2'. The range of trains that could be operated was also increased,
long bogie wagons of chalk mixed with trains of skips carrying clay. At
the front of the layout a short section of standard gauge gives a useful
comparison in size with the narrow gauge.
The layout visited a number of shows including 'ExpoNG' before being
sold on Ebay in 2007.The Works
