Work!! Links & other items of interest

To enable me to be away yachting in the summer I usually work the rest of the year Trunking for Argos Direct.

Argos Direct is based at Stafford and also now a new depot at Faverdale along with Marsh Leys near Bedford and the original at Penkridge nr Stafford From these locations we serve the Home delivery section of the Argos Business.

This is done in two ways, a fleet of 7.5 tonne vehicles are based here for direct deliveries from this warehouse, also a smaller fleet of Trunking vehicles are based here and at the other Regional Disstribution Centres to supply outbases with a daily resupply of full boxes for their 7.5 tonners to take to the customers house.

I personally work in the trunking section as a driving assesor / trunker, driving the Road trains as pictured below & take a look at > Work links

A box on the ground, notice the legs, as these have to be put away / folded A box on the ground
Putting the end of the waggon under the box Putting the end of the wagon under the box, care is required other wise the lights get mangled!!
for simplicity I have not shown mounting the box on the drag, but now move to aligning the wagon to the drag, notice in the mirror how the edge of the wagon box is brought into line with that of the drag behind Aligning the waggon & drag
Alignment As in the last photo the action is in the mirror, and both are in alignment , so the last bit backwards can be done until the coupling engages & the pin fires. All that remains is to couple up & go
Ready to roll!!!

ready to go
