| The Veersemeer was totally closed in the 60s & has as a consequence suffered from bungaloid development at its edges. This does not detract from the pleasure of its principal Jewel, Veere. Care is needed, not because navigation is difficult, but because the waters seem to be used as a training area, so sail boats will cut in front, unreasonably expect one to give way, an arrive in the middle of the night, even though all access routes close at 10pm |

Small "harbour" of Geersdijk, 8 Km from the Zandkreek lock, in
November, unfortunately usually busy in high season, also this berth and
a little behind is the only position with sufficient draft for a 2mtr boat,
elsewhere in this small harbour the depth is about 1.2- 1.8mtr at summer
