FREQUENCY BOARD
At Woking model flyers we now fly on all
frequencies. A frequency board is employed to
track active channel usage. A ‘Peg On’ system is
employed.
And this is how it works. You will find painted
on the frequency board a list of
channel numbers, each with a corresponding, orange peg with frequency
numbers on them. To
claim the frequency you simply take the peg and attach it to your TX.
In it’s place
attach your own peg with your name and channel number marked on it.
When you have finished
with the frequency just replace the peg, simple!
If you don’t have an orange
frequency peg – YOU CANNOT FLY!.
The idea being that it’s a double
check system, for instance if you find a peg
missing, where is it? It may have been lost ,or someone may have it and
have a TX switched
on, so check before you fly, also while I am playing big brother, you
know what happens
sometimes three or (oh ***) four on the one frequency, so why not
operate an informal
rotor system, when you have flown, just inform the next in the queue
that the frequency is
free, if he or she does not wish to fly, pass the word on to the next,
and if someone has
to leave the site early, just swap things around so that they get a
flight, its friendly
and its safer..
NOTE: BMFA rules also require that a frequency
pennant is attached to the Transmitter
Antenna, complete pennant kits may be purchased from Addlestone Models.
