Whilst these are by no means restricted to the adult members of the Church family, they are a time for an in depth study of the Bible. There are currently 5 housegroups meeting around and outside of the Christ Church Parish with a separate one specifically for the young people of the church. The housegroups work through different parts of the Bible and are very informal. They are held in the homes of people from Christ Church and the meeting times and places are announced weekly during the Church Service. If you want any more information or would like to join a house group please see the vicar or email him at the address at the top of this page.
The Monday fellowship is a group of 20+ regulars who join in at 2pm on Mondays at Church to listen to a wide variety of speakers and share fellowship together. The activities are not always based at Church as visits to other churches and outings are arranged regularly. Last year saw a very wet outing to Llandudno (well it always rains in Wales anyway!) followed by a hot lunch at the Deva Chapel in Prestatyn. For further information about this group, see Mavis Calvy either at the group or at Church.
Christ Church currently runs two prayer cells. These are at 09:30 on Sunday mornings (following breakfast at 09:00). The second prayer cell is at 11:30 on Tuesdays. Before lunch (bring your own sandwiches!) there is a half hour session of prayer and quiet meditation. If you want to join a prayer cell (or even start your own) please see the Vicar.
The Open Door group meet on Tuesday evenings on the first Tuesday of the month to discuss a wide range of topics with speakers from all walks of life. This is one for the ladies I'm afraid so I can't talk personally but I'm led to believe it's a very interesting session (even I couldn't get an invite to this one!)
Well, we have Open Door for the ladies so why not football for the men (although women would be welcome). This activity has been running for over 12 months. The interest shown has been beyond our expectations and now over 14 'young' men play each week. Football is being played on Monday evenings at 7pm.
At the core of every good Church is prayer. Christ Church is no different and we hold a regular monthly family prayer meeting on the first Wednesday in the month at 19:30. Please feel free to come and join us as we pray for God's direction and support for His Church.
We have a regular meeting for our international friends who have joined us at Christ Church. This is held at 16:15 every Sunday in the church lounge.
