The next couple of months are gonna be v. busy in camp SB6.

In May after a couple of gigs we are going into the studio to record our full length debut album tentitively entitled 'Sonic Boom Six : Turbo.' We are looking forward to working with Roger Tebbit (who engineered King Prawns new album) and maybe a few other faces along the way. Expect twelve tracks of punk-rock and everything after that we have been playing live recently, a couple of re-tweaked live faves and a few surprises on the way (bhangra/hardcore, hiphop/reggae anyone?)

This is our first chance to get into the studio as a complete band and try out all the ideas that make the sound unique, so obviously we are raring to get it done.

After the recording of the album we will be touring through the whole of June with our skanky homeboys ZenBaseBallBat and all-toasting, all-dancing Coolie Ranx (ex-Pilfers vocals/genius). Straight after that comes another tour we don't know the exact details of yet, but rest assured it's gonna be a good one.

The last Sonic Boom Collective gig at the Retro Bar went well so thanks to all the bands and everyone who turned up to make it such a cool night. The recent Joe Strummer Tribute gig was also a lot of fun. There are some photos and a review here

The website has been updated with MP3s from the EP and the lyrics to the relevant songs have also been added. Get set for a new look site at some point in the future...

The next gig is one of those wonderful Star & Garter Sunday All-dayers and it's organised by Rhythmic Loz so get down for a 'smashing' day/night on 23rd March. We also have a gig lined up at the Witchwood in Ashton-Under-Lynne early next month and we will be doing an Amnesty International charity gig at the Star & Garter at the beginning of May. All confirmed dates below.

Hey, did I mention? WE NOW HAVE T-SHIRTS FOR SALE. They come in both
'girls' and 'boys' sizes in black and have the logo below across the front and a nice little 'detail' on the back. We have been selling them at gigs for £8.00 so £9.50 seems a fair enough price to get one sent in the post. If you want one just email for the address to send the cheque to.

Joe Strummer Tribute Confirmed

Yes that's right 'The Boom' are confirmed for the Joe Strummer Tribute gig at Manchester Night & Day on 9/03/02.

We'll be performing 'Safe European Home' in that neo-street punk style we have all come to know and love. Stage times have yet to be confirmed but it's looking like 15 bands (yes!) performing songs spanning the eterity of Joe's career and possibly the appearance of some special guests (e-rumours!)

The 'Lessons From Chapter One Tour' is going very well indeed, we have just finished The Toasters dates and it was hella fun... The 6 track CD mini-album is finally available for purchase but unfortunately the T-shirts have got to be put on hold for a while.

The mini-album was recorded in Manchester during the last weekend of October with 'The Dutchmaster' (of Capdown and King Prawn production fame) behind the controls. The CD has been released by ourselves at the moment and is available here through the website, at all gigs and from Sabotage Records (2nd Floor Afflecks Palace, Manchester).

NEWS - 30/11/02

The tour begins today so that's all very nice. T-Shirts and CDs should be available from the Sheffield gig onwards and from here as soon as I get the chance to add a merchandise section. I have added the other bands to the dates we are playing below, where possible. Pictures of the last Manchester gig up soon! Until then comrades, farewell.

We have finished recording the infamous 'mini-album' and it is currently being mastered. It will be available for sale here and at gigs as soon as it is pressed...

Seen as though we haven't done that many gigs we thought we better do something about it. Details below.

There are now some pictures of the Roadhouse gig with Jesse James under the 'visual' section and there is a new section, 'D.I.Y.' under community. Here you can find details on how to make your very own Sonic Boom Six t-shirt by using a magnificent art stencil. How amazing...

There are some tour dates to go up soon, I'm just waiting on confirmation of the venues but its all lookin' good at the minute. I will also be updating the links page in about two weeks so any requests, send them over.

There is also a 'ph'at remix of Northern Skies available (courtesy of our good friends at red raw) and lyrics for the tunes up so far.

There are plenty of gigs on the horizon, the confirmed ones are listed below. On the 'live' bit thanks to everyone who came down to the recent 'Sonic Boom Collective' nights in Manchester. We are hoping to take it to a new venue soon and have a few cool bands on the cards...
