AMATEUR RADIO

Licensed since 1974 originally as G8IQB and then as ZC4DH in December 1974 taking my full UK call in July 1976. Held calls in most European countries  as well as the USA and Canada.

Operational on all bands from Top Band to 23cms with fast scan ATV on 24cms and 10 GHz. Using Yaesu FT920 on HF and 6mtrs, Kenwood TS790E on VHF/UHF and homebrew equipment on the other bands. Antennas are a 93 foot end fed tuned with an SGC SG230 Auto ATU, X 9ele Tonna for 2mtrs, X 13ele Tonna on 70cms, JVL loop for 23/24cms, 80cm dish for 10GHz.

A member of the Stevenage and District Amateur Radio Society (SADARS) since 1991 and a member of the RSGB since 1974. Active member of the Royal Signals Amateur Radio Society (RSARS) since 1973 (Membership number 963)and currently Treasurer

Run mobile on all HF bands plus 2mtrs and 70cms with main HF operation on 40mtrs. Equipment is an FT100D with Hustler monoband whip for 80Meters and ATAS120 for 40 Meters to 6 Meters and a  dualband colinear for 2/70. All operation is totally hands free. Vehicle is currently a Skoda Octavia L&K 2ltr  TDI DSG Estate.
