Please also tell me a little about yourself, if you like. It's always interesting to know where in the world you are, and what brought you here! However,
please don't write to ask me for specific lyrics or song IDs - the chances are I won't be able to help you. Instead, try asking in the rec.music.reggae newsgroup. Thanks! :-)

Jah guide!

A little about me:
I'm Lois, age 25, living in the UK. In May 2006 I graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in Arabic.

I have many interests, including
art, music, dance, ancient and scriptural languages (especially Arabic), mysticism, Angels, myth & legend, vegetarian diet, and anything else related to keeping fit in mind, body and spirit.

I first encountered reggae about seven years ago, and was instantly hooked on its compelling rhythms and often challenging lyrics, and most especially by the deep-rooted spiritual dimension of many songs, spreading a message of harmony among mankind.

In terms of my own creative output, I've always been most inspired by the natural world, by the combination of words and music, by the wisdom of the ages, and by a personal faith. I enjoy creating
sculptures, paintings and especially portraits.

I do not claim to belong to any religious denomination or group, though have great respect for all religious and spiritual traditions that encourage and challenge humankind to strive towards higher ideals. In the course of my own spiritual path, I have been influenced by many diverse traditions, including especially Rastafari, Christian Mysticism, Hinduism and Anthroposophy, as well as Kabbalah, Orthodox Christianity, Islam, Sufism, Alchemy, Celtic monasticism, Baha'i, Shaivism, Astrology, ancient Norse spirituality, the Hermetic tradition of Thoth-Hermes, Rosicrucianism, Zoroastrianism, and others. The three spiritual Masters whose teachings I feel most drawn to are Rudolf
Steiner, Paramahansa Yogananda and Omraam Mihkael Aivanhov. I am fascinated by the richness of the spiritual heritage available to us today, though would advise anyone to pick their way with caution and discernment across an often confusing landscape.

Personally, I believe that every human being is potentially divine, but must realise this through self knowledge and experience, not simply through blind belief in creeds and dogma. It is a sad and inescapable fact that much of the trouble in the world today is caused by misunderstandings in the name of religion - often in the name of God. Many people therefore choose to reject religion altogether. However, I believe religion also has the potential to generate healing and increased understanding.

Peace be with you.
