Beacon
Mode:
When
not in use, the repeater will go to transmit every 10 minutes
for 30 seconds with its video caption and audio call-sign in
morse code. Otherwise the repeater is off.
In
use:
When
in use the repeater will give its call-sign, in Morse only
every 10 minutes added to the users audio. The GB3BH ID, top
right, will indicate in vision that the signal is coming
from GB3BH.
The
repeater will automatically come on if it receives a signal
on its input at 2340 MHz. This will override any other
inputs that may have been selected unless the caption has
been selected.
You
can control the repeater by sending DTMF
tones on 432.725 MHz. You will need a DTMF control that has
numbers and letters e.g. 0123456789ABCD. First check that
the repeater is hearing your 70cm signal.
Checking
the DTMF receiver/controller:
With
the repeater transmitting, send code AAB4,
the repeater will reply by sending it’s callsign in Morse
added to the audio to confirm that it’s hearing you.
If
the repeater can hear your signal but cannot decode the DTMF
(i.e. incorrect DTMF level, distortion or your transmitter
is off frequency) then the repeater will reply in Morse with
T (-).
To
switch to an alternative input or to activate the relay
functions, use the DTMF codes shown below. The repeater will
only switch to another input if there is a valid TV signal
present; this avoids transmitting white noise from a
receiver if no signal is present.
The input
priorities are:
1st priority, 13cm Rx
2nd priority, 3cm Rx
3rd priority 70cm digital Rx.
Input 4 will
be the only input with user access if a signal on 1, 2 or 3
is not present.
This input is controlled as follows:
Enable additional services: AA04* disable AA04#
When the above has been enabled the following may be
selected.
To
select another input. (DTMF

Example, if GB3HV is being relayed, pressing BB4 will turn
off GB3HV and turn on the slide show.
The
slide show and cameras will have 77Hz CTCSS added to their
audio.
So the only code to send to switch the repeater off
overnight is AA04#
It will still come to life if a signal is present on the
input.
Please switch off
after use except the ident, leave it on.
Diagnostics
When turning on or off an
input the repeater will acknowledge a correctly sent command
with the following idents:
In Morse
O for ON (- -
-) or F for OFF. (. . - .)
