Constitution

  1. The name of the association shall be Otley Twinning Association.
  2.  The aim of the association shall be to promote contacts and understanding between Otley and similar communities outside the United Kingdom.
  3.  The Otley Twinning Association shall comprise of representatives of organisations and individuals from the town and surrounding areas who support the principal laid out in 2 and are able to host a family or person(s) from communities outside the United Kingdom.
  4.  There shall be an executive, and additional two representatives nominated by the Town Council, comprising such numbers of individuals, as the general meeting feels appropriate to run the day-to-day business of the association, to be elected every September at the Annual General Meeting. The Town Mayor shall be an ex officio member of the executive.
  5.  The Officers of the Twinning Association shall be: -Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and three other members, who shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
  6.  The Treasurer will be responsible for presenting audited accounts on the occasion of the Annual General Meeting.
  7. The Chairman will have the power to call a meeting of the executive to discuss urgent matters outside of the monthly meetings and to report back to Association members.
  8.  A general meeting of the Otley Twinning Association shall be held every second Wednesday of every month (except August), any members of the Otley Twinning Association can attend the monthly meetings.
  9.  The executive shall have the power to co-opt members to the executive when it feels this is necessary.
  10.  Membership subscriptions shall be payable to the secretary at the time of the Annual General Meeting. The rate of subscription shall be decided upon at the Annual General Meeting
