Constitution
- The
name of the association shall be Otley Twinning Association.
- The
aim of the association shall be to promote contacts and understanding between
Otley and similar communities outside the United Kingdom.
- The Otley Twinning
Association shall comprise of representatives of organisations and individuals
from the town and surrounding areas who support the principal laid out in
2 and are able to host a family or person(s) from communities outside the
United Kingdom.
- There
shall be an executive, and additional two representatives nominated by the
Town Council, comprising such numbers of individuals, as the general meeting
feels appropriate to run the day-to-day business of the association, to be
elected every September at the Annual General Meeting. The Town Mayor shall
be an ex officio member of the executive.
- The
Officers of the Twinning Association shall be: -Chairman, Vice Chairman,
Secretary, Treasurer and three other members, who shall be elected at the
Annual General Meeting.
- The
Treasurer will be responsible for presenting audited accounts on the occasion
of the Annual General Meeting.
- The
Chairman will have the power to call a meeting of the executive to discuss
urgent matters outside of the monthly meetings and to report back to Association
members.
- A
general meeting of the Otley Twinning Association shall be held every second
Wednesday of every month (except August), any members of the Otley Twinning
Association can attend the monthly meetings.
- The
executive shall have the power to co-opt members to the executive when it
feels this is necessary.
- Membership
subscriptions shall be payable to the secretary at the time of the Annual
General Meeting. The rate of subscription shall be decided upon at the Annual
General Meeting
