William Wilson Senior was born 1853 in MANCHESTER He was married to who was born 1862 in Salford the marriage took place in 1890 at Stowell Memorial Church they had three children as follows
During 1891 to 1901 William and Ruth Wilson lived in Ryland Street, Salford William Wilson Senior died before 1901 and Ruth Wilson died at her brothers house in Garden Street by the end of 1901 leaving the boys orphaned. Charlotte died at the age of 3 years in 1893. James and William (Billy) Wilson were brought up by their mother's sister Aunt Mary Ann Wilkinson (McDonough) and Uncle Jim Wilkinson in Blackpool. WILLIAM (Billy) WILSON JUNIOR Butcher Corporal in the Kings Own Lancaster's
William was a butcher he had a couple of butchers shops in Weaste, ran two shops in Monton and various shops in Swinton. He was a well known and loved character in the area. During the second world war one of the shops which was at the bottom of Moorside Road, Swinton was used as a look out point by the Military Police. A bomb hit the near by Wardley cemetery, and the turkeys out of his shop window ended up on the East Lancashire Road!
William (Billy) Wilson Junior was married to who was born 1895 in PENDLETON The marriage took place in 1915 at The Mother of God and St James Pendleton They had the following children
They lived at Salford - Irlams o'th' Height - Swinton
