This Wallwork clan lived in Swinton in Manchester, they were mainly coal miners and cotton mill workers, with their roots chasing back to 1700 in Pendleton Salford.

Many of our Wallwork family fought for their country in the 1st and 2nd world war, suffering some casualties.

Henry and Emily Wallwork had 5 of their sons serving in WW1

Our Wallwork History

To date I have traced our Wallwork bloodline back to Richard and Elizabeth Wallwork from Broomhouse Lane, Pendleton.

See the Wallwork page below for more information.

This website is dedicated to

Bernard and Ruth Wallwork

and all their ancestors and descendants.

My Father Bernard Wallwork told me most of the family history, as it was passed down to him from his grandfather Henry Wallwork, pictured seated on this backdrop, with my Grandfather Joseph Wallwork. I had the help of my Uncle Leo Wallwork who lived in Tasmania and my Auntie Joan Wallwork from Wigan, wife of my Fathers brother Eric Wallwork, cousin Veronica, along with other special family members, to whom I am greatly thankful for their help in preserving our family history for us and future generations to enjoy.

This family tree starts from my parents generation working backward in history.

Using the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901, 1911 Census, Birth, Death and Marriage certificates, Parish Registers, Grave records and inscriptions, I.G.I records, Wills, newspapers, photographs and study of local history as documentation.
