Warsash Horticultural Society

(founded 1919)

Welcome to gardeners worldwide

Here is a brief resume of our thriving and successful Society,

We meet in the at the Victory Hall in Warsash near Southampton in Hampshire at 7.30pm on the last Wednesday of every month except July. Our aim is to hold meetings with like minded people covering all aspects of growing flowers, shrubs, vegetables and fruit, whether in a garden, allotment, tub or indoors.

We have visiting speakers on various themes and specialist subjects wherever possible and other meetings can be more 'hands on'.

We also organise outings to places of interest to members and friends. These are either evening or all-day trips.

Each month we hold a popular 'flower of the month' competition. The flower must be a single stem in water, grown by yourself and it can be an indoor or outdoor flower. We also hold a raffle each month for prizes that are generously donated by the members and any monies raised go to the society's funds.

Every May we hold a Saturday 'Plant Sale', selling plants and seedlings etc. This sale is very popular with the inhabitants of Warsash and the local area and is very often 'sold out' in a very short time.

We all work hard to make our annual show the great success that it is, in early  September. This is always well received by the village and the surrounding area, bringing in many entrants. It also includes a children's section.
