Video Clips from Portable Operations

July 2007 - Keswick

A quick look around at the operating location, and antenna setup. Working 40m using an Icom 706 Mk2g and 100w to the inverted V

Sep 2007 - Harlow Essex

This was my first try using the Cody box kite. Peter G3FQF was operating, and shortly after this video the kite failed. One of the plastic internal supports failed, and the QSO came to a rapid end :-)

Jan 2008 - Brentwood JO01DP

Video taken near Brentwood in Essex with the assistance of Wayne M0MPG and John M0UKD Working a Kite antenna portable. The kites used is the HQ Sutton Flowform 2.0.

Thanks to G4NKL, M3SIU, G1SPC, GW1PKM, G7DHW, G6INU, M0FHA, UT1KY, WX2F and IW8BAK for taking our calls. This was very much a "proof of concept"

The kite was around 30 meters high, and we used around 35 meters of wire, to the MFJ 901B tuner. Further pictures can be found online.
