St.Ann with
Emmanuel Church was opened on April 6th 1974.
The old St.Ann's Church
stood at the bottom of Robin Hood Chase (demolished Easter 1971)
and the old Emmanuel Church at the top on Woodborough Road (demolished
Whit 1972) and the two parishes came together on a new site on Robin
Hood Chase, bringing in also some of the old St.Bartholomew's Parish
which used to stand on the skyline on Bluebell Hill Road.
The Electoral Roll membership
stands at about 136 members.
Sunday worship is 10.45am
and 6.30pm and this alternates with Holy Communion evenings and
mornings. There is a Family Service on the first Sunday morning
each month.
The main midweek fellowship
meeting is held on a Wednesday evening at 7.45pm. There is an Afternoon
Fellowship on Tuesdays at 2.30pm. Brownies and Guides meet midweek,
and there is a Ladies Coffee Break Group and Choir Practice night.
Membership for all activities is always encouraged and warmly welcomed
in this Church Fellowship.
We are Evangelical in
our churchmanship. We are situated in the heart of an Urban Priority
Area within a mile radius of the city centre. Robin Hood Chase is
a pedestrian area. Access by transport is at the bottom of Church
Road, off Abbotsford Drive.
