Arnold come runners up at Marlborough for the second year running

The team topped their group with a 100% record beating Marlborough Yellow 2-0, Medway 3-0, Gedling B 2-1, and West Bridgford 2-0. They then faced Arnold B in the quarter final, the two teams were very evenly matched and it took a late Stacey Pearce goal to send Arnold A through. Then it was Gedling A in the semi's, again a very evenly matched game, Arnold took the lead but within seconds Gedling equalised. The game eventually went to penalties where Fraser stepped up first confidently scoring, Gedling missed their first penalty, Pearce stepped up and was extremely unlucky to see her spot kick come back off the underside of the crossbar, this disappointment was short lived when Gedling failed to hit the target again with their second penalty, so it was down to Pritchard to blast Arnold into the final with a confident spot kick in the bottom corner. The final was a very disappointing display by Arnold, however if it had not been for a string of quality saves from the Heather goalkeeper I would think Arnold could possibly have scored six or seven goals. Heather took the lead from a scrappy goal, and then ended up wining 3-0 catching Arnold on the break. The score did not really reflect the game but in all honesty there was some very tired Arnold legs in this last game.
