Model hot air balloons
Balloon Designer Version 2.1 (2003) is a design and mathematical modelling tool for model
hot-air balloon enthusiasts, inspired by a balloon-obsessed friend in London and the
Overflite website, which gives details
of how to make the balloons (thanks to Tom from Overflite for his suggestions on the mathematical model).

As well as performance estimates and options for optimising the balloon,
the software also features 3D modelling of the dynamics of the balloon surface to improve
volume calculations and allow 3D graphic display of the balloon shape.
Research is planned on the feasibility of modelling the convection processes inside the balloon
for more accurate estimates of temperature.
