Home visits are only for those patients who are too ill to attend the surgery. Help us to help you by only requesting home visits in these circumstances. Please tell us before 10.00am whenever possible.

The decision as to the need for a home visit rests with the doctor.

When medical problems occur outside of surgery opening times we ask you, whenever possible, to wait and telephone you own doctor after 0830 on the next morning that the surgery is open as they are more likely to know the details of your case and be better able to assist.

and you will be put in touch with the on-call emergency doctor.

At weekends or other public holidays please telephone between 0900 and 1030 if you require a visit so that the duty doctor is able to plan his/her rounds. The majority of the out-of-hours calls are covered by the doctors of the GPCentre or by one of the local GPs who take part in a rota with the doctors of the GPCentre to cover evenings, weekends and bank holidays. During the little remaining time your call may be answered by an emergency deputising service.
