My idea for this series of illustrations for stamps was to show the surreal memories of the seaside I have from when I was a child in the early seventies. When thinking back to those days I am filled with bright, exciting, vibrant, colourful imagery brought about by the things that surrounded me. What I have done is bring together these iconic images in an interesting way that should appeal to anybody who has experienced the seaside as a child. The mixing of my memories and surreal imagery is important in the development of my personal voice as an illustrator.
