UPDATE NEWS
Have added a report for the 2009 Royal Mail National Championships, just follow the Team Royal Mail link above

10th November 2009

A strange night, several teams missing due to road accidents on the motorway, computers not working to start with at the alley and still no league screens when they did start working, also the league started half an hour late and the handicaps that were used were a week out of date, the road accident affected us though as Dean Barrow was stuck in it and couldn't get to the bowl so Alan Calder was drafted in at very late notice.

After last week's 8-0 defeat of Team Dave the team were in good heart but a last minute drop out from Martin Longyear due to a tummy bug didn't dampen that feeling and it showed in the depleted teams performance as they went on to defeat Can't Score Won't Score by the same margin.

8th November 2009

The Cubs finally put a stop to their five match losing streak after this draw with Bedrock Bowlers but it is still ten matches since the Cubs last felt what a win feels like and despite the draw the Cubs are still rooted to the bottom of the league tables.

5th November 2009

The Tigers had two winners in the 'A' division of the Men's Knockout Cup, Colin Marshall had an easy passage against Triss Neal of WSC lawbreakers winning 646 - 566, meanwhile Dale Longyear was deposing Chris Davies of SBS Wildcats in a far tighter match which came down to the handicap difference in the end, the match finished 621 - 592 both bowlers now progress to the Semi Finals, in the 'B' division Alan Calder was entertaining Jeff Cocker of Elite Home Improvements but unfortunately for Alan his interest was to end here as he lost the match 587 - 601.

5th November 2009

The Tigers took on themselves this week as they were playing the Bye Team hoping to at least get some points on board, usually the Tigers find it hard to maintain a high level of bowling when they have to play their own scratch scores and usually come away with a defeat or draw at best.

Well, it came down to the last match of the group stage to decide who went through to the matchplay section with Saab Hopefuls, whoever was to win between the Tigers and Yo-Yo's would be that team, thankfully it was the Tigers as they smacked Yo-Yo's to claim that second place spot to go into the quarter finals.

25th October 2009

The final positions for the Industrial Pirates Individual knockout cup have now been calculated after the three week qualifying period, to qualify for the next round players had to be in the top 32 highest scores, unfortunately for the Tigers and for the first time since the competition started not one of the bowlers qualified, Martin Longyear finished in 37th place, Dale Longyear 40th place, Graham Burnett 49th place and Cheryl Griffiths didn't play enough games to take place in the competition.

For the Cubs the picture isn't so clear, Nicole Campbell didn't play during the qualifying period so is out, Mez Longyear finished in 45th position so therefore didn't qualify, Emily Turner, Liam Burnett and Steve Greenwood all finished inside the top 32 of sorts, Liam, Steve and Trevor Mundy of Bedrock Bowlers all have the same scores which means there are 33 qualifiers which is one too many so one of them has to drop out, to achieve this they will be involved in a three way play-off to lose one of them.
