Welcome to the 30th consecutive tenting season of John Lawson's Circus. Our show was founded in 1974 by the late Captain John Lawson and originally titled 'John Lawson's Circus De Reszke' after a Polish Circus Artiste who introduced Captain John to the world of Circus. Over the last three decades John Lawson's Circus has continued to flourish and grow into one of Britain's top circus presentations which we hope you, our audience, continue to enjoy. We also still present regular indoor circuses during our winter 'rest period' including every February school half term holidays at the Angel Centre, Tonbridge, Kent. So whether you are a regular visitor to our show or watching for the first time, please sit back comfortably, get ready to clap and cheer, and enjoy our brand new production for the year 2008. We are always pleased to hear your comments Dear John Lawson's Circus, May
I take this opportunity to thank you for a fantsatic nights entertainment. A
group of friends a I took time out of studying for our GCSE exams to come and
enjoy the circus on its last night in Totton. We were not let down. It was a
magical and fun show and we all left the big top with cramp after laughing to so
much! I must particularly thank your clown for dragging me up and making me
dance around madly as a hollywood director! I'm never going to live it down at
school, but everyone seemed to enjoy it! Dear John Lawson Circus, It's not often that I'm so moved as to write such an email, but I have to let you all know how much my family enjoyed your circus this afternoon. It was a genuine privilege to see such talented artists so close up. What superb value! Even though your excellent (but crazy) clowns pulled a very reluctant father out of the crowd (yours truly), it was well worth it to see the smiles on my kids faces. They'll be talking about that for a long time to come! Thank you once again for such an entertaining show. I know that my children will remember their first trip to the circus for many, many years to come. Please visit us again soon! Kindest Regards, D. W. We took the kids to see the
Circus this evening, and what a fantastic night out it was for them (and I quite
enjoyed it as well)
Recent reader's letters to a Cheshire newspaper include Three cheers for the circus! "THREE cheers for Macclesfield Borough Council for finally putting Meriton Road Park to a legitimate use, in allowing John Lawson's Circus to perform. Perhaps our local councillors could use their powers of persuasion, to allow any additional income received for the park by Macclesfield Council to be reinvested in promoting further events and ensuring sporting and pastime activities can return to the park to be enjoyed safely by the local community." Name and address supplied (to the newspaper). Big Top visit was refreshing change "I VISITED the circus with my daughter and granddaughter and it was wonderful. Everybody young and old really enjoyed themselves. Years ago summer fetes were held in the park, not any more. We all pay enough council tax to help maintain the park, which is supposed to be for the community! I do hope the circus returns in the future." Handforth Resident - name and address supplied (to the newspaper). Thank you John Lawsons Circus "There were more familiar faces from the village than there ever has been in the park at any one time - thank you John Lawsons Circus for some fun in the park." Meriton Road resident - Name and address supplied (to the newspaper). Pleased to see park being used "WE would like to give a point of view as residents of Meriton Road, Handforth and say that we were pleased to see the park being used for a family event. The circus took great care not to damage local property. On the morning of the circus leaving, the park looked lovely. We hope that this will be one of many family events coming to our park. So it is again a happy family place." Meriton Road residents group.
