Just wen I thought I escaped... I am now back in charge of the Legend of Zelda RPG Team. How did this happen? Well, basically, Ouro was struggling with the leadership duties of the project, and I still hold the project in great stead. As such, even though I had stepped down and was intending to let the project fade from my life, it turned out that to do so meant letting the project die - and that was not something I was willing to do. So instead, I stepped back up as lead (and as formatter), and started getting the good ship Zelda RPG back on course.

There were other factors too - a disgruntled member (who has now left) took issue with a discussion we had over the nature of canon and the Goddesses in Zelda. He couldn't get his own way, so decided to try and publicly humiliate me instead, by outing me as transsexual. While he did have some valid concerns, including the fact that Ouro couldn't handle leadership, they got lost in the hatred he spouted.

It is not Ouro's fault - he never really wanted the leadership, but there was no-one else to take over besides him. Ouro did his best and got spells done, but I am required to fix the errors, because there are missing spells, inconsistencies, and bad formatting throughout. Despite these errors, Ouro did manage to get spells done, and it is better than no spells section at all - so this is not about bad mouthing Ouro. In fact, Ouro remains a dedicated member of the team, and still a close friend, especially with how he responded to me being outed as transsexual.

My transsexuality is not something I feel I should have to hide. In fact, quite the opposite. However, I am only at the start of my transition, and have a long way to go, so having Zelda to do gives me something to keep me occupied as I wait for appointments and things. It's important to understand that transsexuality should be a life event, not an identity - and this is how I intend to treat it. The UK is getting to a place where transsexuality is legally accepted, and most reasonable people are tolerant. Only the bigoted and the staunchly religious have any real objections, and even then quite the Church of England (the primary Christian faith of the UK) are relatively understanding. It's not perfect, but I can think of many other places worse than the UK to transition in...

So, now I am back in charge of Zelda RPG, and I have been outed as transsexual (using my personal blog spaces, so obviously it was something I wanted to hide...). As for the now ex-member, he just revealed himself to be a bigot, and any concerns he had, however valid, got lost in his hatred, and apparently so has he. Oh well...

Holy, um, yeah... Things have been interesting enough, but you know what they say "Same Stuff, Different Day." So, I've not really had much reason to update this website recently, which makes it look like I don't do anything. Of course, I'm sure you don't want me to bore you with how my Christmas and New Year went, how I've been looking for work, the excellent grades I've been getting as part of my studies, or that I started my volunteer placement with DIAL.

You may be interested in the latest playtest kit release from the Legend of Zelda Roleplaying Team - they've done spells. Of course, it's up to me to fix them - what can I say, I'm so good, I carried the team! Hehe, just kidding... it's just that they have had difficulty getting a new formatter, and poor Ouro is stuck doing it all. That is not good, given that English is not his first language. (I think it comes somewhay between Vulcan and Klingon, and way after his native languages of German and Dutch...)

I have been busy sorting out my life, trying to get back into work, and sorting out a new place to live. Most of this has ended up on the MySpace blog, but sometimes somthing so important comes up that a simple blog site doesn't do it justice.

Save the Astoria is just one important thing. It's important to get the message out to as many people as humanly possible. So, it you want to help save an important part of London's music scene, please check out the campaign and sign the petition.

Um, seems that I accidentally removed my MySpace links from this page. Here they are again.

In other news, I recently stepped down as lead of the Legend of Zelda RPG team, and left the group. This was not a decision I made lightly, but my heart just isn't in it any more - this is a result of significant changes in my personal life, as well as reactions to changes in my roleplaying habits: mainly that I don't actually roleplay any more, and haven't done any D20 roleplaying for a long time!

Okay, it's been a long time sine I updated this site. The Legend of Zelda Roleplaying Game is coming along amazingly well. We've started working on spells, the last of the player's section, and also started on our first module for the Module Project. If things go well, we could have our first finished product by the end of the year, and a great deal of the system complete and awaiting playtesting.

In other news, I finished my first year of studying. It was tough, but fun, and I learnt quite a bit. I thought I was pretty smart before, but now...

Anyway, I've signed up for another year of study, this time with a different set of disciplines - Social Sciences, Business Studies, and Finance. This should give me an excellent base to pick out my 2nd and 3rd level courses, so I could complete my degree in just three or four years. It's great knowing that all things going well, I should have five years of funding left...
