A unique, six times faster mobile data system has evolved using GMSK at 7200 Baud over PMR radio.

Inheriting the basic functionality from the phased out Halda MDS12 data heads (FSK at 1200 Baud).

Using a large colour touch screen and mobile PCs are running Windows XP.

Program updates can be carried out inserting a USB memory stick.

Map navigation voice prompts, cash/card/account job calculations before receipt printout,

Jobs and messages are spoken to the driver using natural Text-To-Speech technology,
Mapping is to street level, showing house numbers and it allows for UK postcode,
and a combination of county, town & street name searches…

A second remote radio data base station to increase data coverage to the south,
with automatic channel selection from the taxi’s GPS position.
Plus a second remote voice base station for the booking clerks to contact their cars…

Over the past few month mobile routines have been changed and fine-tuned.

More features have been added to complement the functionality of the new data system.

Speaker volume control plus a 2-minute timer to go back to data mode

 

Searching for jobs, the driver may bid for one in a nearby zone or area

 

Driver plotted (blue) and bid for job (orange), if the BID is unsuccessful

then he will stay ranked up in the area plotted

 

Job on offer alerts driver and prompts to either accept/reject it, or time out after 10 seconds

 

Accepting a job prompts the driver to give the estimated time of arrival

 

After a job has been accepted the pickup co-ordinates are passed to the car.

 The FIND IT Navigator can calculate both the fastest or shortest route and guide

 the driver along the highlighted path to the pick up point, using voice prompts

 

Up to 25 Global and Normal messages each…

 

Plus 50 Jobs are time stamped and stored for the driver to read at any time.

Natural Text-To-Speech voices speak the new message to the driver as it arrives.

Calendar controlled taximeter counting road pulses and waiting time plus EXTRAS.

Date/time are automatically updated to summer/winter time from GPS on power up.

This ensures correct selection of the taximeter tariff when going HIRED.

Now with analogue Waiting Time Clock icon and rounded light indicators.

                        

Print or clear taximeter totals at the end of a shift

 

                                                      

Cash, credit card & account job calculations are made before the receipt printouts
