PULBOROUGH WEIR

Having spoken to the Environment Agency (Fisheries) I now understand their
concerns & requirements over what we can and cannot do on this weir. Both myself
and the representative from the Environment Agency have also tried on several
occasions to contact Southern Water who are responsible for public safety on
the weir but they haven't attempted to return any of our calls.

This being the case I recommend that we re-commence using the weir with the
following restrictions.

1). Don't shoot the weir or go beyond the second wall as this will
interfere with the work being carried out by the environment agency.

2). Do not park on any ground around the weir as this is private land &
not a public parking place. Park at either Pulborough or Stopham & paddle
 to the weir.

If we abide by the above there shouldn't be any further problems, if we
don't we could find that the weir will be closed to all canoeists, after all
this is England not France
