Pricing policy for Diagnostics and Fault Finding

Fault finding on modern cars can be time consuming and involve state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, especially with intermittent faults, which may not present themselves at the time of testing. It is my policy to keep customers informed at all times and to test E.C.U's on the vehicle.

Vehicle Preparation

Vital physical examination & replacement of serviceable parts, cleaning & modifications are carried out at this stage. Fuel pressure tests, where applicable & exhaust gases analysed at this point. Interrogate the car's Electronic Control Unit for stored codes. Report to customer.

Expect to pay £50, up to the first hour. ( Quite often the fault is rectified at this stage )

Diagnostics

Using diagnostic equipment, measurements & adjustments, if necessary, are carried out at this stage. Diagnostics at component level & wiring problems requires pin out checks using oscilloscope and serial communications. Intermittent problems can be particularly difficult to find and time-consuming. From the results I am able to advise if further work or repairs are required.

Expect to pay £50 per hour

Payment on completion, all major credit cards accepted, cheque or cash.

Regular car servicing can avoid a lot of potentially expensive problems before they happen. I offer a mobile service at your home or place of work, which includes servicing & repairs as well as the more involved diagnostic & tuning requirements.

Servicing & Repairs £35 per hour

All prices are for Labour only and do not include any parts required. Remember, the cheapest quote is not always the best quote.
