Under the conditions of The Data Protection Act you are entitled to find out what information the Police hold about you. This does NOT cover any intelligence information they might have.
To obtain details about what is held by the Police, you can request a Subject Access Form from your local Police Force. When completed, you return it with a payment of £10.00 for which you will be given a receipt. It can take up to six weeks for the results to be sent to you. If you are on NEW DEAL with JobcentrePlus, they will cover the cost of the £10.00 fee for this information. Speak to your New Deal advisor beforehand. If you need help completing these forms, contact us for free guidance.
