Goal Scorers - Lee Farmery, Ossie Kozar, Carl Wilson & Greg Witherington

Man of the match - Nick Waite

Any team would be pleased with a 4-0 win but I must say, I thought the finishing was poor as this game should have finished 8-0. We really do have to concentrate on our finishing if we are to compete for the title.

Getting away from the negatives we still did enough to deserve the points. A fine display from Wilson who made his first start for the bees with a steady performance and a good goal after finding himself one on one with the keeper (1- 0 after 15 minutes). Clifton kept at it and won themselves a penalty when part of our defence went to sleep. We ended up having to chase the player down catching his ankles for a definite penalty. A combination of good goal keeping and a lackluster penalty, prevented Clifton levelling.

The bees continued the pressure and sure enough we won a free kick just on the 18 yard box. Captain Farmery stepped up to dispatch a trademark free kick to double the score. (2-0 after 28 minutes).

Shortly after, hard working midfielder Kosar came up with the goal of the game lobbing the keeper after a great run, beating 3 players giving us some of the Turkish magic what we all know Ossie is capable of (3-0 after 35 minutes).

The impressive Wilson broke through again but was blatantly fouled by the keeper after taking the ball around him which only earned him a yellow. Strange.

The second half continued in the same vein with shots flying high and wide. We had three more one on ones but again poor finishing and control prevented us from increasing our tally. Changes were made when Hassall came on for Ramsey and Holmes came on for the injured Carruthers. Clifton never threw in the towel but the Bees kept up the pressure and again, good work down the right from Kosar sent in a pinpoint cross to find leading scorer Witherington to head an unstoppable shot to seal the points. (4-0 after 72 mins).
