Bees Rampant!!!!!
At last the Bees finished off their chances. We started the game with an attacking formation and made Magdala work overtime to keep up with us. To be fair to them they had a fair share of the ball and for the first 20 minutes gave us a hard game. We thought we had took the lead in the 20th minute through Willow but the referee blew for offside. Just a few minutes later Willow gave us the lead after some great work from Macca and Woody. (1-0 after 24 minutes)
Matrix and the crowd were stunned into silence when Magdala, after just one minute, went up the other end and leveled (1-1 after 25 minutes).
Although Magdala fought very hard, all the chances were falling to the Bees. and it was Macca who found the net just before half time to give the Bees a deserved lead going into the break (2-1 after 43 minutes).
It was all Matrix in the second period pushing and squeezing Magdala all the way. Woody, who is gradually getting back to his best, had an excellent game with two assists and capped his performance off with a fine goal (3-1 after 55 minutes)
Another player who got it right today was Smith, who got himself sent off last week but had his head on today. He never put a foot wrong and he too capped a good game with a brave header to get our fourth (4-1 after 65 minutes).
Carruthers came on for the last 25 for Willow piling even more pressure on the opposition. He got himself on the score sheet with a fantastic shot from the edge of the box, giving the keeper no chance (5-1 after 75 minutes).
The team was now rampant and although the team played well a special mention must go out to Stevo who didn’t score, but led the line very well up front giving us a super display. Macca capped off yet another Man Of the Match performance with a great goal with ten minutes left (6-1 after 8- minutes).
Just 5 minutes later and Carruthers got his second, pushing the Bees to 7 oerall and rounded off a great team performance.
Well done all!!
Next game - Wed 9th 6 o’clock kick off at Birchover Park, Bilborough.
