Matrixgrade 3, Boots Athletic 0 Goal Scorers - (M) C Wilson, A Ramsay, L Farmery Man of the match - Andy Ramsay Ref. Des Brown Rammerdan shines... A good game played in the right spirit, refereed superbly by Mr Brown. Boots came to the Hive with plenty of men behind the ball. Probably to stop us playing, but also to protect their 200 year defence, who I thought had an outstanding game. Although Boots worked hard all the early chances fell to the Bees. Boots held out until just before the break when Farmery scored his first goal in 2 months, which was helped a bit by some dodgy goalkeeping. (1-0 after 35 minutes) The Bees came out in the second half looking sharp. Hassal switched from defence, for the tired looking Woody. We got our reward almost immediately when Hassall found the very busy Mcmorron who struck from a very tight angle giving the keeper no chance. (2-0 after 47 minutes) The Bees had most of the game but it wasn’t until the last quarter when we got our just rewards. M.O.M Ramsey, who has been on the bench for 2 months, proved today that when his heads on, he can still do a job in Midfield. He picked up the ball just inside the halfway line, beat a player and smashed the ball from 30 yards giving Edwards no chance in the bottom corner, cracking goal. (3-0 Full time). Well done lads!!! - don’t forget ticket money on Wednesday night.
