MACCA delivers
Poor defending again allowed Southbank take the lead early on. Poncing about on the ball when it was easier to clear allowed their forward an easy chance to score 0-1 (after 20 minutes).
Poor finishing was also the order of the day, when chance after chance went begging. New signing Doyle made his debut this week and showed a good account of himself. In fact it was Martin Doyle who brought the score level scraping the ball over the line from close range. 1-1 (After 40 minutes)
The team played a little better in the second period but the defence still looked vulnerable under attack. The final 20 minutes saw the best from the Bees as they got their passing together. Some good work from Farmery and the General inside the oppositions box, battling it out against 4 defenders to win the ball. On the edge of the melee McMorron was lurking and he coolly took the ball around the oncoming defender, rifled an unstoppable shot into the top corner for the winner and to cap off a man of the match performance.
Another new signing Mark Palmer is looking for a spot in the center of midfield and showed this week what he’s capable of, after coming on for the last 20 minutes. He has played at various clubs to a high standard the latest being Greenwood Meadows where he spent a couple of years and had some good seasons.
Our second signing Martin Doyle comes to us from Radford FC in the centre of midlands and has his own share of experience playing at similarly high standard of football.
Welcome to the Bees lads, good to have you!!!!
