Fox in the box
Foxy Witherington started the game as he left off mid week, causing problems in and around the oppositions box. Mcmorron who covered as much ground as Foxy also created the same problems for Clifton and these two are really beginning to strike up a pretty good partnership.
Foxy scored after easily slipping the ball under the keeper to start the rout. (0-1 after 10 minutes)
He was at it again when a beautiful pass from pop Ramsey found Foxy to slot home after going around the keeper. (0-2 after 15 minutes).
Woody got himself a nose bleed when he found himself in the opposition area, he crossed a great ball for Farmery whose header was saved but only managed to parry out to sniffer Doyle, for his third goal in two games.(0-3 after 35 minutes). Chance after chance was created in the first half but the score remained at three as the half time whistle blew.
The first 15 of the second started more or less in the same vein with Foxy shooting over from close and then Doyle missing an open goal after a pin point cross from Hassall. It was Hassall who started the scoring again with a fine cross which found Doyle. He unselfishly headed the ball down to Macca, who dribbled around a defender and then the keeper to finish with a slot into an empty net. (0-4 after 61 minutes).
Just a few mins later and Foxy was at it again, taking the ball around two players, then going 1 on 1 with the stopper but was blatantly flattened for a definite pen. The keeper was sent off and Captain Farmery slotted home. (0-5 after 65 minutes)
Laws came on for the final 15 and almost immediately made an impact. He got himself a free kick 30 yards out finding that man Foxy again to slot home from 6 yards, completing his well deserved hat-trick. (0-6 after 86 minutes)
Macca finished off the rout latching on to a long ball and dancing round the standing keeper. (0-7 after 89 minutes)
Macca then completed his hat-trick when a great thru ball from Rammer found him and he took the ball around two players before slotting past the keeper. (0-8 92 minutes).
Clifton have some very talented players who are young but very enthusiastic and I am sure if they stick together will produce some interesting results and surprise a few teams.
