Lesney's second Scammell mechanical horse was an enlargement of the previous model,
The livery was changed to either a crimson or maroon cab and a tan trailer.
It still had hand applied gold trim but this was later changed to mask sprayed silver trim.
It was enhanced by the addition of mudguards over the trailer wheels which the earlier Scammell did not have,

The front wheel was always 8mm smooth grey metal but now it could be on flat head or dome head axles with crimped or rounded ends.
For the cab rear axle and the trailer early issues were fitted with 8.5 x 18 grey metal wheels and later ones with 8 x 18 grey plastic wheels.

There was only one casting variation and that was to the rear of the right side trailer mudguard which was infilled at the top and probably due to a damaged die rather than being a deliberate alteration.
like the earlier issue it was only availabe in 'B' type boxes,
It was introduced in 1957 and was deleted in 1961 to make way for the 10c Foden 15 ton sugar container truck.
