Winning scholarships to the University of Warwick and the Royal Academy of Music,
Gaynor Keeble
was also awarded the Countess of Munster Award and was a semi-finalist in both
the Kathleen Ferrier and the Belvedere International Opera Competition and winner
of the London Lieder Prize in 2001. On leaving the Royal Academy she joined the Welsh National Opera where she performed and covered many roles including Carmen, Meg Page/Falstaff, Maddalena/Rigoletto, Berta/Barber of Seville, Marcellina/Marriage of Figaro, Flora and Annina/La Traviata, Ragonde/Count Ory. Roles with the English Touring Opera include Marcellina, Tisbe/La Cenerentola, Marchese/Daughter of the Regiment, Baba the Turk/Rake's Progress. Other roles include Buttercup and Hebe/HMS Pinafore performed at the Royal Festival Hall and Kate/Pirates of Penzance at Queen's Theatre West End. Roles elsewhere include Mrs Sedley/Peter Grimes with the CBSO, Olga/Eugene Onegin, 2nd & 3rd Lady/Magic Flute, Orpheus/Orpheus & Euridice, Mere Jeanne/Dialogue of the Carmelites, Jack/The Wrecker, the World Premiere of Priscilla/Silas Marner by Howard Goodall at Salisbury Festival and another World Premiere of Rose Taverner/False Relations by David Stoll. Gaynor has worked with Orchestras such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, London Bach Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, The Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic and the Vivaldi Concertante. In 2005 she performed Elgar's 'Sea Pictures' and 'Music Makers' and took part in the CBSO Fireworks Fantasia singing Vera Lynn songs and Rule Britannia. |
Gaynor has made numerous recordings which have included the Councillor's Wife (Osud)
conducted by Sir Charles Mackerras for EMI, Hebe/HMS Pinafore, Patience/Yeomen of the
Guard for TER records, and has performed for the Royal Opera House, Opera North,
Mid-Wales Opera, European Chamber Opera, and Opera Interludes. 2005 saw Gaynor perform Madam Popova/The Bear, Mistress Quickly/Falsaff and Marcellina for The Opera Project; Berlioz 'Nuits d'ête' for the Warwick Festival; Katisha for Carl Rosa in the USA and Rome and Delilah/Samson and Delilah and Amneris/Aida for Kentish Opera. In 2006 Gaynor successfully performed Katisha in the Mikado for English National Opera and Ludmila in Mid Wales Opera's production of The Bartered Bride. 2007 sees Gaynor working with Opera North performing The Witch and Mother/Hansel & Gretel and covering Kabanicha/Katya; and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden covering Marquise/La Fille du Régiment.
