As I sit here writing, working on another poem, I see your happy face peeping through my bedroom window. I wonder if you are happy to see that I'm writing again, or if you're just happy at things in general. Whatever, it's so good to see you, you are beautiful - you shine so bright. You light up my night - my life. A little misunderstanding I phoned the supermarket to register my complaint. 'It's these toilet rolls which I purchased from your store,' I said. 'Yes? What's the problem with them, sir?' Came the customer care supervisors' voice. 'It's the claim on the packaging, it's way out. It stated two-hundred-and-forty per role, I didn't keep an exact record, but it was nowhere near, maybe twenty to thirty.' 'I think you'll find it said two-hundred-and- forty sheets per roll, sir.' 'Oh, I'm sorry,' I said, 'I thought it said….' '….No, sir, sheets.' It? An old, feeble woman confronted me, there, in the middle of the street. In her low, crackly voice she said, 'It's raining.' 'What is?' I questioned. She looked at me for a moment, a puzzled look playing across her countenance, then slowly she repeated, 'It's raining.' 'It's raining? What's raining? What is this "it" you keep going on about?' Now she looked really dumfounded - her jaw lying on the deck, her eyes huge and staring, and in her hands she grasped her shaking head. 'It's raining,' she pleaded, almost in tears. 'Oh, woman, I have no time for your nonsense talk, I'm getting soaked here, I'm off!' 'Seahorse' Seahorse - seahorse - cornflake eyes, sitting on the prairie with a boy called Mary, 'Prise open my thighs,' he cries. Face like a boy - body of a girl. Seahorse - A seahorse with cornflake eyes and candyfloss flavoured hair.
