The BSRFUR is committed to ensuring all our referees are fully trained.

There are two courses available to anyone wishing to referee.

Refereeing Mini/Midi Rugby

A 3hr course aimed at those wishing to referee up to U12, within the rules of the continuum.

There is a pre-course element to study a DVD on Child Protection and complete the questionnaire, which should be brought along to the course. Candidates are assumed to be familiar with the rules of the Continuum.

Cost is £20 per candidate.

Entry Level Referee Award

A 13hr course run over two days, or a combination of evenings and days, which provides a formal qualification for those wishing to referee the 15-a-side game.

There are pre-course elements studying a DVD of the laws of the game, a DVD on Child Protection and a DVD to stimulate thoughts on referee attitudes.

Cost is £40 per candidate.
