There are two courses available to anyone wishing to referee.
Entry Level Referee Award
A 13hr course run over two days, or a combination of evenings and days, which provides a formal qualification for those wishing to referee rugby.
There is no pre-course requirement, but some work will be required between the sessions.
Cost is £50 per candidate.

Refereeing Mini/Midi Rugby
This is a self-study course presented through an interactive DVD. It presents an overview of the continuum and looks at some of the special requirements for refereeing the younger players.
The course is an optional add-on to the Entry Level Referee Award course and costs £10.
For further details on the courses or to apply for a place please contact John Ford, the Society Training Officer, or Lindsay Piper at Twickenham.
Continuous Referee Development
For Referee Society members there will be training sessions presented at the Society meetings.
For club referees who do not belong to the referee society there will be referee development evenings organized throughout the county. The RFU has appointed a Club Referee Development officer (CRefD) and is setting up a network of Club Referee Coordinators (CRefC) to arrange these evenings. For further information on these evenings please contact CRefD.
