My name is Derek and I am the skipper/owner of Riptide, I have been in the charter fishing business for approximately 26 years preceded by 10 years of semi commercial fishing from Worthing beach.

I am licensed to charter up to 60 miles from a safe haven which covers quite a vast area of the English channel.

When chartering, you will find I always fish myself because after all these years I still get a kick out of landing a big fish.

I will make tea for the crew and have facilities for heating food. My main objective for the day is to ensure you enjoy yourself, hopefully take home a good catch of fish, and have a memorable day to tell your friends and family.

On a more serious note, safety has to come first when dealing with the sea, that’s why a skipper who’s cautious and knowledgeable of the sea and weather is of the uttermost importance.
