The amount of information that can be shown on the monitor screen is restricted by the menu icons.  However, these icons can be hidden by pressing the F11 key which is most useful when viewing photographs as it can avoid the need to scroll the image by moving the side sliders.

Try it.  You will be impressed.

Moving the curser to the top edge of the screen will temporarily reveal the icons but pressing the F11 key a second time will restore the menu icons to the screen.
