What Happens at a Speed Dating Event?

An equal number of men and women will attend a Speed Dating event.

At registration, you will be given an ID badge to wear. This will show your ID number and your first name.

You will also be given a Match Card to record your result of each date.

Ladies will remain seated and the gentlemen will move from table to table in a specified order, so that every person gets to meet every 'date'.

Each 'date' will last 3 minutes, the end of which will be signalled by a bell or whistle.

The next minute will be time for the men to move onto the next table and for everyone to record the results of their last date. The end of this period will again be sounded, and the next date can begin.

There will be an intermission where you will have an opportunity to eat and drink (when buffet provided) and chat further on an informal basis. This opportunity will be available again at the end of the dating.

At the end of the evening you will hand in your Match Card to the event organiser.

Within forty-eight hours you will receive notification by email of your 'matches' - if you have said 'yes' to someone, and that person has also said 'yes' to you, then that is a match and you will each be provided with the others contact details - email or phone, however they agree to be contacted. If either party has said 'no' to someone, then contact ends there and no details will be given.

After this, it's up to you. Good Luck!
