The Pebble Mill Studios was the main BBC production centre outside London. Drama, Light entertainment and factual programmes were produced here as well as local news programmes for the West Midlands. The local radio station, Radio WM also had its studios in the building. Programme production has now been moved to The Mail Box Studios in Birmingham City Centre. This is because of its age and changing technologies. The site is due to be redeveloped over the next few years but not for broadcasting.
