This transmitter carries the commercial radio station for Leicester and has done so since January 6th 1997. It is a large mast and pleasantly does not carry any mobile phone aerials. The aerials for Leicester sound are presumably the two about a quarter of the way down the mast. The site has rather impressive security fencing and gates presumably because it stands in a rather isolated position overlooking the city of Leicester. There is also a rather large transmitter building. I wonder why?
