Gorton Local History Group Colour Calendar for 2009 - £3.50

It is on sale now at the Group, Gorton Library on Tuesday afternoons between 1pm and 3pm, and the card shop in the new Gorton Market Hall, Garret way for £3.50.  It is also available by post in the UK for £4-50 inc. P&P. See the For Sale page

This year the Group has produce a Colour Calendar for 2009 featuring twelve pubs in the Gorton area. Once, pubs were the centre of local life, where people used to meet and enjoy each others company. Often someone would play the piano and there would be a sing-song. However pub life has changed with the times and many local pubs have had to close. We hope that the photos in the calendar will jog residents' memories of time gone by.
