Manchester District Association was formed in 1897, nineteen years after the founding of the Cyclists' Touring Club, and for over a century has resolutely concerned itself with the rights and interests of all local cyclists.

In 1995, Manchester D.A amalgamated with Mid-Lancashire (Bolton, Bury, Wigan and Warrington areas). Our district now extends from Todmorden in the north down to Congleton in the south, and from Warrington in the west across to Buxton in the east, covering the postal districts of BL, M, SK, OL, WA1, WA2, WA3, WA13, WA14, WA15, WA16, WN1, WN2, WN3, WN4, WN5, WN6, WN7, CW4 and CW9.

At our AGM in November 2007, in line with changes to the structure and organisation by CTC of the Local  Groups, the name was changed to MANCHESTER & DISTRICT CTC

Manchester & District CTC has groups who run rides and events.  See the ‘Who to Ride With’ part of this site for more information.

Our award winning magazine,Northern Wheel, contains lots of information about our groups and other cycling groups in our area. It is packed with interesting articles and much more.  Use this clicky link for more details:  NORTHERN WHEEL
