CTC National Council.
CTC National council is the governing body of the organisation, elected by CTC members.
Posts on CTC National Council are filled on a regional basis.  Members are elected to represent each region for three years with one third of Council being due for election each year.
The CTC’s administration, policy and performance is guided and monitored by Councillors elected to represent all of CTC’s members and trusted with playing a critical leadership role for the future of cycling.
The diversity of CTC’s interest is represented by the wide range of cyclists :
commuting by bike, touring or cycling for sport, leisure or health , participating in organised cycling within a CTC  group
promoting the environmental and health benefits of cycling
campaigning for improved conditions for cycling.
Whatever their interests in cycling, all members are valued on an equal basis.
Council
The minimum commitment for councillors is to attend and participate in Council meetings, usually four meetings a year, and to attend the national AGM. All of these usually take place on a Saturday.
Networking
Most Councillors find they are most effective when they add to their formal duties an active participation and networking at a local level including
(a)   Attendance at some of the Club’s national and local events
(b)   Attendance at meetings of CTC Local Groups and other cycling groups to support the actions and policies of CTC and to get feedback. Each autumn  CTC Local Groups. hold their lAGMs ; and councillors try to attend where possible.
(c)   Networking with CTC’s Right to Ride campaigners on local policy issues.
Manchester & District  CTC is part of the CTC's North West Region.  The current councillor for the North West is David Robinson. There is currently a vacancy for a second North West councillor.
