Who is Neil? Like Zaphod Beeblebrox of Douglas Adams fame: "He's just this guy, y'know?" Unlike Zaphod though, he doesn't boast an extra head or a third arm, and he's not the president of the galaxy with a stolen ship! He's just making his way through this life the best way he knows how, picking up a few hitchhikers on the way, namely his partner, their children, and Gizmo the dog! I'm in the process of moving house - a life event that can cause a great deal of stress. Sometimes the task seems too great: so much to do in so little time, so many people to notify, etc. This got me thinking:

How successfully you cope with life's daily stresses depends greatly upon your mental attitude. If you believe that you cannot do something or worry about all that could go wrong then you will most likely fail in your task. You defeat yourself before you've even begun!

Adopt a positive mental attitude and convert the hurdles in your life into challenges to be overcome. Now I know that this is more easily said than done. How you feel is a decision you have to make every day.

At this time of the year it is good to remind ourselves to look forward toward what is to come, rather than backward at what has been and gone. Savour the reminiscences of the past but do not live in them.
