I initially began as an Instructor,
working with this dive club. I then brought a digital camera, with underwater
housing and light, to produce videos for the students. I provided an edited
video of the course, with audio dubbing and digital effects. Also completed
a promotional video and CD ROM, for the dive club.

My position was as co- manager
of the resort dive centre, for a 6-month period. The role involved offering
all PADI courses, daily dive trips and 'all inclusive' resort dives. The
day to day management of staff and diving operations. Repair and maintenance
of equipment (Mares & Dacor), boat handling/captaining and outboard
engine/boat maintenance. The position also required the implementation of
a yearly budget, control of all paperwork concerning the dive operation.
The production of monthly reports for resort General manager, selection
of contractors for dive projects, and orders from suppliers.

After completing the IDC, I
took the position of Instructor. This position involved all the normal requirements
for a PADI Instructor: academic presentations, organisation of skill development,
and safety concerns for the students. This has allowed me to gain experience
and develop my problem solving skills and the ability to express new concepts.
During this time I was also involved heavily in marketing of the shop. Building
up a diver base for a newsletter, producing brochures for courses and IDC's
and handling inquiries & bookings over e-mail. The position also required
front line sales of all PADI courses and fun dives for myself and other
members of staff. Dive Indonesia is a 5 star Gold Palm IDC development centre,
being the first 5 star and Gold Palm resort in Indonesia with 20 years experience.

After initial training I was
awarded the position of Divemaster. My role involved various responsibilities
including: checking of certification and allocation of divers to other Divemasters
according to their ability and experience, control of boat procedures and
loading, advice on equipment and shop equipment maintenance (Scubapro),
designing and implementing shop practice, and securing buoy lines! My position
also required briefings to groups of up to 20 people, with regard to dive
expectations, safety aspects, emergency procedures and specific information
with regard to the dive site and marine life.
