The directions here show how to make circular ruffles for a skirt trim. The calculator below will give the required circle diameters for a ruffle of the required length, allowing for a standard seam allowance (1.5cm or 5/8") For a flounce at the bottom edge of a skirt, the required length will be the total width of the hem. The calculator will split this into a manageable number of circles, which should be cut and then seamed together to make a continuous strip. |
