WELCOME Thanks for visiting the website of maritime photographer Kevin Mitchell. I have lived most of my life close to the sea at Poole in Dorset where I have grown to appreciate the ever-changing character and moods of the sea, and the ships that sail on it. I began capturing ships on 35mm film during the early 1990's but more recently have progressed to digital equipment. I aim to capture more than just a ship and try to combine lighting and other objects to produce an interesting photograph - something often easier said then done! Most of my images are taken in and around Poole Harbour but I also travel further afield when time allows. Since my first published photograph I have remained a regular contributor to a variety of maritime journals and books, with my work also featuring in material produced by Brittany Ferries, Poole Harbour Commissioners and the RNLI.
