- It is reasonable to assume that Catherine could not read or write as the birth certificate of her daughter Sarah shows "The mark of Catherine Teresa Egan, Mother".
The birth of "Crank, Catherine Teresa" is recorded 1852 Q2 ref: ??? 8b 326 (I cannot make out the name of the place).
Died at 12 Tattersall Road, Seaforth. Death recorded "Egan, Catherine T." age 63 Q2 1917 W.Derby Ref: 8b 343. This gives a birth year of abt 1854 although she was actually born in 1852.
Burials at SS Peter and Pauls Roman Catholic church at Great Crosby, Liverpool, have been indexed and they show the burial of "Catherine J Egan" of Seaforth, 25th April 1917 age 63. Also listed is the burial of her husband Michael. I assume the "J" is a transcription error.
