Notes
- Birth date of 1845 taken from his marriage certificate (1871) age 26.
There is the record of the birth of a Michael Egan Q1 Liverpool 1845 ref: XX 328. There is no other suitable individual in the birth indexbetween 1842 and 1847. Further searches show one Michael Egan Q1 1850 Bradford Y. XX111 176 and another in Q3 1848 Prescott XX 724.
It seems that a great many Egans moved to England, particularly the Liverpool area, from Ireland at this time.
I have not been able to trace a suitable Michael Egan in either the 1841, 1851, 1861 or 1871 census. There are several possibilities butI cannot determine who is who.
The death of "Egan, Michael" age 53 is recorded Q4 1902 W.Derby Ref 8b 230. It suggests a birth year of about 1849 although his marriage certificate suggests 1845.
Burials at SS Peter and Pauls Roman Catholic church at Great Crosby, Liverpool, have been indexed and they show the burial of Michael Egan of Seaforth, 26th November 1902 age 53. Also listed is the burial of his wife Catherine.
