- May have committed suicide by jumping off a bridge.
The death certificate shows death by drowning and his body was found in the river Medway.
Kent directories show Mrs Parks living at 98 Upper Fant Road in 1915 and thereafter, her husband had died prior to that date. The next, earlier, directory is 1906 so it is hard to be more specific with the dates.

The death of Ernest age 40 is registered in Maidstone 1909 Q2 ref: 2a495. The entry has been hand written at the bottom of the page, thissuggests that it was added out of sequence. Given the suggestion that he may have jumped off a bridge it is worth checking the newspapersor details of the inquest which the death certificate states was opened on 23rd April 1909, the same day that the body was found.
